Heyyyy! If you're a parent, school is back in full swing and it's A LOT! If you feel overwhelmed by the sheer thoughts of having to navigate your calendar, your family calendars, and the house. Believe me, you aren't alone. The art of keeping the spinning plates going, while not losing your shit is an acquired skill that requires constant practice, pivoting, and a plan! So, let's dive into some tips and tricks that can help you ace the game of life without burning out.


Embrace the Chaos:


Embrace that some days, it will be a shit show. The laundry might pile up, and takeout might become a staple. That’s okay! Cut yourself some slack and remember that perfection isn’t the goal. Give yourself grace and accept that it’s all part of the ride.


The Power of Planning:


Get ahead of the game by planning everything in advance. Grab your calendar and make sure it includes all aspects of your life—school events, kids' activities, work commitments, and appointments. Don’t forget to schedule rest and downtime too. Setting aside just 15-30 minutes each week to organize your schedule can keep you from scrambling and help you stay on top of things.


Prioritize Your Priorities:


Learn that everything is not an emergency. And that everything will not go perfectly. Determine what needs to be done and what can be moved to another day OR outsourced! Don't do this alone. Please, just don't! Use your support and if it's affordable, Hire someone. (read: doordash, grocery delivery, laundry, etc.)


Self-care is essential:


Don't forget to take care of you. Daily, remember to do something for yourself. Prioritize you, because if you aren't good; nothing will go as planned. Incorporate different ACTIVE and GROUNDING activities; whether it’s a walk, meditation, or a favorite hobby. A healthy you is crucial for keeping everything running smoothly.


Celebrate Small Wins:


Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Whether you nailed a busy week or just managed to get by, recognize your efforts and give yourself a handclap. You did that! Positive reinforcement can make a big difference.

Remember, life isn't about perfection. It's peaks and valleys, ebbs and flows. Handling what comes your way with grace is how resilence is fostered.
